Q: What are the age limits for
children that want to come on the bike tour or walking tour?
A: The
youngest participant that we have had on the Fiesole bike tour is
9 years old; and around 5 years old for the walking tour. Younger
children can be taken on the walking tour, and strollers can be
used but there will be short sections where the child will
probably have to be carried at times.
Q: Do any of the bikes have
childrens seats mounted on the back so we can take our infant?
A: We
do have several requests for these seats several times a year, but
we have preferred to not add them to our tour for safety and
health reasons. Although the bike tour is something that just
about anyone who can ride a bike competently can do, it is a full
day of activity that may not be appropriate for small
children.
Q: Do you rent bikes out on an
individual basis?
A: No. All of our bikes are used for our
tours, and we are not set up to do rentals.
Q: Should I still send in my
reservation form and money even if I will be leaving for Europe in
just a few days? A: Yes. Unless
you will be in Florence to do the tour the same week that you send
in the sign up form and money, it is better to go ahead and make
your prepaid reservation. We will either fax you a copy of your
ticket, or we will contact the office in Florence and let them
know you are coming and are all paid for.
Q: Can you recommend a place to
stay in Florence?
A: Check out our links page.
However, almost all the guide books (and certainly the ones that
list I Bike Italy!) are all pretty good at suggesting places to
stay. Chances are that you will have to call several places before
you find availability anyway.
Q: Can you suggest other things
to do in Florence which are off the beaten path? A: When you
sign up for our tour you will receive an information packet that
contains several of these types of suggestions, as well as some of
our favorite places to eat and drink in Florence.
Please let us know if you have any further questions
that should be added to this list, and we will post them!
