Florence Hills & Olive Oil Bike Tour

Cycle through Florence’s prestigious hills, enjoy the best views over the city, and visit a countryside olive oil producer for a tasting of their specialties. This is our most popular bike tour, loved by visitors from all over the world.

In just half a day, you’ll balance cycling, panoramic countryside views, and the authentic flavors of Tuscany.

We start from our office in the traditional Oltrarno neighborhood, far from the most touristy streets. From here, you’ll quickly notice the contrast between Florence’s cityscape and the rolling Tuscan countryside during a scenic 4-hour ride.

The first stretch lasts about one hour and takes us through Porta Romana, the only gate still framed by 13th-century walls. Then comes the longest uphill of the day (1.3 km / 0.8 mi) through a quiet residential area – the three remaining climbs are much shorter.

Once outside the city, we ride along ancient narrow roads with plenty of photo stops and stories about local flora and fauna. Our main countryside stop is a beautiful venue surrounded by olive groves, where your guide will explain the olive oil making process during a short walk in the orchard. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a tasting of Chianti wine, extra virgin olive oil (pressed from the olives right around you), Tuscan bread, and local cold cuts.

Note: the countryside venue may be closed on Mondays or certain dates. In that case, we’ll visit an alternative site in the countryside or the Oltrarno, with the same inclusions.

On the way back, we pass through a Tuscan village where Galileo Galilei once lived and visit his star observatory. Before returning to Florence, we stop at San Miniato al Monte, one of the best panoramic points over the city and a perfect selfie spot. The last stretch is all downhill into Florence’s historic center. If time allows, your guide may even add a stop at their favorite local gelato shop.

This is the perfect escape from crowds and museums, and a true dive into the heart of Tuscany.

• Optional E-bike upgrade: €25 per person (minimum age 14, minimum height 150 cm). Please request during checkout; payment is due at check-in.
• Food requirements: please notify us in advance of allergies or dietary needs. Vegetarian and vegan options are available.
• Families with children under 14: this tour can be booked only as a private experience. Please provide ages and heights when booking.
• Safety note: participants must be confident riders and in good physical condition. The route uses roads shared with traffic, so good control of the bike is essential. For safety reasons, we may exclude participants not fit for the activity.
• Not suitable for those with mobility issues, heart conditions, or other serious physical limitations.
