Fun itinerary giving you the chance to see all Florence from within and from outside, with unforgettable panoramic spots, led by an expert and knowledgeable guide.
The first part of the tour takes place in the Oltrarno neighbourhood, discovering old shops and workshops, narrow streets with typical trattorias and bars.
Coming into Santo Spirito Piazza, we'll have a first stop to find out about the history of the church, the last realization of the florentine Renaissance genius Filippo Brunelleschi, that counts among its masterpieces a wooden crucifix by a young Michelangelo. We set off again and in just a few minutes the imposing Piazza Pitti opens up before our eyes! The majestic Palace, once home to the Dukes of Tuscany, hosts today no less than 7 florentine State museums, among which the Boboli gardens and the Palatine Gallery, where masterpieces by Raffaello, Caravaggio, Tiziano, Rubens and Van Dyck are hosted.
Back on our bikes and off riding among the beautiful views from lungarno (the river banks) and the historical Palaces, we get to the ancient Florentine walls, ready for our third stop: the Roses garden, charming garden with a romantic view over the city. After snapping a few shots among the poetic works by Folon, we leave the garden to get back to our bike ride.
Heading east at first and then north, we'll reach an ancient structure called Le Murate, formerly a prison and that is today a lively florentine cultural and literary center.
After a short stop we are ready to take on the old city center: the Duomo (cathedral) with its majestic dome, about which your expert guide will fascinate you with stories and curious anedoctes. After the religious center we head towards the political one: Piazza della Signoria, the florentine open-air social and cultural gathering.
After this last stop, with our minds full of nice pictures, we are ready to get back, still discovering on the way more hidden corners, unknown to those who walk but revealing themselves to the bikers while Florence greets them, plunged in the warm colors of sunset.
Arrivederci!
